Myth of the Chocolate Skin
Fun fact, foreigners: Europeans and Chinese have a difficult time wrapping their heads around the concept of our skin colours. They assume that the entire "desi" race has this smooth chocolate skin, thanks to how Indians are portrayed in their TV series, I guess.
So I tell them: "Okay listen. My grandpa is light-skinned, my grandma is dark, their daughter: my mom is almost as light as a Latino, my dad is as dark as an African, and here I am, dark-skinned. And no, my family isn't mixed-race, although I wish it was. All of them belong to the same race, same culture, same religion, same area, hell, even the same damn caste!"
And they respond with "What's wrong with your family?"

To add to this post, here's an excellent stand-up comedy nailing this topic:
"They said AYYO so loud, half the hospital thought I was a girl"
"Due to my horoscope, I need to marry a tree first... But I can't just marry any croton or a creeper... There are caste issues"
